About Me
My name is Patricia Howitt and I am the Community Partner for the Organic Gardening Special Interest Community on CAGORA.

Just a little about me. I qualified from University with 2 degrees - in Arts (languages) and Law, and worked over 15 years as a lawyer in the NZ Government, mainly in the medico-legal and environmental fields. I also taught business law at Polytech for the NZ Society of Accountants qualifications, for 3 years. Click for full details of my career at LINKEDIN.
My father died prmaturely in 1985 and I moved to the country to live with my mother on the family lifstyle 10 acre block in the Far North of New Zealand. For a while I ran a herd of dairy goats. This property has not had artificial fertilizers or chemicals applied for at least 40 years and I’ve decided it’s time to put my money where my mouth is and grow some organic food for myself.
I have had a strong interest in alternative health for many years - one of my first sites was Health News-NZ which I built in 1997. I learned HTML and developed my existing artistic skills into computer graphic design. For 2 years I had an offline graphics, internet and desktop publishing business in town, until my mother became ill. I nursed her for 10 years with Alzheimers Disase until she passed away in February 2007.
I now freelance in graphics and webdesign, creating sites for myself and clients, working directly with the graphics, HTML and CSS.
